Sustainability and Climate Change

Our Commitment

We are committed to caring for the environment while ensuring the safety, wellbeing, and individual needs of our SEND learners remain central to all decisions.

Leadership & Oversight

  • Sustainability Leads coordinate eco projects, recycling, biodiversity work, and the Eco Committee.
  • The Headteacher provides senior leadership oversight and leads the Climate Action Plan.
  • The PAT provides governance oversight and challenge, with Ian Wyles serving as the link Governor.


What We Are Doing

  • Reducing waste and improving recycling in SEND-accessible way
  • Supporting nature and outdoor learning on site
  • Promoting energy awareness and responsible resource us
  • Preparing for climate-related risks, such as extreme weathe
  • Teaching sustainability through SPHERE (PSHE, Citizenship, and RE), Natural World, and Science, with cross-curricular embedding


    SEND First

    All actions consider sensory needs, medical equipment, temperature regulation, and safeguarding.

    Monitoring & Review

    Progress is reviewed termly by senior leaders and annually by the governing board.
