Elmley Dray School is a small specialist school for children aged 9 to 19 who require a supportive and nurturing learning environment to reach their potential.
We are proud to announce that Emily Hollis is our new Interim Head of School and has joined our small team of dedicated staff.
At Elmley Dray School we provide a specialist education for children and young people diagnosed with Autism, display autistic traits, have sensory difficulties and have social & emotional difficulties such as anxiety which has often resulted in low levels of mainstream school attendance.
All our children and young people want to learn, progress and gain a sense of belonging in education.
Children and young people whom we meet talk to us about feeling confused, anxious, unable to cope and misunderstood, with low self-esteem and disengaged from education.
We think differently.
Elmley Dray School gives them an education that is tailored to their individual needs, enabling and empowering them to understand that being different is something that makes us the same as every unique individual in the world; to gain confidence in themselves and be a part of a growing community.
We are committed to the holistic development of the child or young person.
We are a compassionate, values-based and innovative school which challenges all who work and learn in the school to be the best that they can be, each and every day. With a strong ethos and a highly experienced and talented team who are passionate about education and making the difference to children and young people who think differently.
We listen.
When designing our school, we have not only asked professionals on their opinions, but we have also listened to the voice of children and young people. We understand the environment must be welcoming and inclusive so that our children and young people can reach their potential.
